In 2003 I was deployed to Iraq. My mom had empty nest syndrome, anxiety, and became depressed. She jumped every time the phone or door bell rang. I came home on mid tour leave and it pained me to see her so distraught. I searched everywhere for a daschund puppy and finally found one. Only one. In a neighboring state. I had just received my reenlistment bonus. The moment my mom had that puppy I her arms I knew it was the perfect fit. I paid the lady. She loved that dog dearly. He passed in FEB 2020. That dog had seen my mom through my deploying 3 times. He was her heart. She is now ready for another pup…
